Specialization: climate protection, sustainable development policy, environmental protection management

He is a professor at the Department of Environmental Protection and Dendrology at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He conducts research in the field of climate protection, sustainable development policy and its integration with agricultural policy and sector strategies as well as environmental protection management. Author of over 300 publications. He is a co-founder of the Climate Coalition of Polish environmental organizations and its managing expert.
He has been studying climate protection issues since 1992. Observer of the Climate Convention negotiations conducted as part of the Intergovernmental Negotiation Committee, and then SBI, SBSTA and AWG-LCA. In 1994, he co-founded the Climate Action Network Central and Eastern Europe (CAN CEE), serving as its director in the years 1994-1998. He is an expert in the field of climate policy and the role of agriculture in climate policy.
He served as the Head of Polish Research Teams participating in international projects on the correlation between agriculture and climate protection, including:

  1. EU Bioenergy Policies, agriculture policy and climate change.
  2. Policy Incentives for Climate Change Mitigation Agricultural Techniques.
  3. Sustainable Farm Management Aimed at Reducing Threats to soils under climate change

He advises business and public institutions on environmental issues. In the years 1999-2003, he served as an advisor to the Minister of the Environment on European integration and he was a co-author of the Polish negotiating position in the area of the Environment.
